Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth. While dentures take some time getting used to, and will never feel exactly the same as one’s natural teeth, today’s dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than ever.

Complete dentures are a removable option if you have lost all of your teeth. If some teeth are remaining and they all need to be removed ,an immediate denture is inserted at the same appointment as the extractions. While immediate dentures offer the benefit of never having to be without teeth, they must be relined several months after being inserted. The reason is that the bone supporting the teeth reshapes as it heals, causing the denture to become loose.

Missing teeth are replaced by plastic or porcelain teeth supported by a metal or plastic framework. This type of prosthesis has the advantage of economy (many teeth can be provided for a relatively lower cost than fixed bridges or implants). And it is easy to clean and maintain.

When your denture feels too loose we can make it fit again. Our professionals will refit and stabilize your dentures so that it fits again. Most repairs or additions can be completed in one day if you make an appointment. If you do not have an appointment, or are having an emergency, we will work you into the schedule as quickly as possible.

Over a period of time, your denture will need to be relined, remade, or rebased due to normal wear. Also, as you age, your mouth naturally changes. These changes cause your dentures to loosen, making chewing difficult and irritating your gums. At a minimum, you should see your dentist annually for a checkup.
